Russia Doesn’t Matter If It’s Excluded From Indonesia’s G20 Summit, But Be Wary Of This

MOSCOW, KOMPAS.com – The Russian government has dismissed the threat of US President Joe Biden to remove Russia from the 20-nation (G20) economic group because of its invasion of Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said if Russia were removed from the G20, the move would not be a disaster.

“The format of the G20 is important, but in the current situation when the majority of its participants are waging an economic war against Russia, nothing terrible will happen,” Dmitry Peskov told reporters Friday.

“My answer is yes, it depends on the G20,” Biden said, when asked whether Russia should be excluded from the group, as quoted by Reuters. Reuters.

Biden also said that if countries like Indonesia and others did not agree with Russia’s expulsion, then in his view, Ukraine should be allowed to attend the G20 meeting.

The comments came after Russian President Vladimir Putin was said to want to attend the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, which this year is chairing the forum.
