Russia is carrying out a peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh and does not agree with the accusations of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in its failure. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov during a conference call.
“We cannot agree with such theses. Russia will remain a part of this region, and it cannot leave it. <…> Russia continues to play the role of a security guarantor,” Peskov said. His words are quoted by the correspondent of URA.RU. At the same time, he clarified that the Russian Federation deeply respects Pashinyan.
Earlier, Pashinyan reproached Russia for not fulfilling the mission to ensure security in Karabakh. According to him, Russian forces are allegedly leaving the region. However, he did not provide any evidence for his claims.
