Russia destroys European-supplied Ukrainian S-300 missile system

MOSCOW, KOMPAS.com – Russia said on Monday (11/4/2022), that they had used missile roam to destroy S-300 . missile system which has been supplied to Ukraine by an unnamed European country.

Russian Ministry of Defense claimed Moscow had launched Kalibr cruise missiles on Sunday (10/4/2022), against four S-300 launchers hidden in a hangar on the outskirts of the Ukrainian city of Dnipro.

Russia said 25 Ukrainian soldiers were hit by the attack.

“The sea-launched Kalibr missile with high precision destroyed the equipment of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile division that had been delivered to the Kyiv regime by a European country,” the ministry said. Reuters.

Russia did not say which European countries supplied the S-300 systems.

NATO member states, Slovakiawhich has donated such missile systems to Ukraine, said the weapons it supplied were not hit.

“Our S-300s were not destroyed,” said Slovak government spokeswoman Lubica Janikova.

The Russian Defense Ministry claims Moscow forces have also shot down two Ukrainian Su-25 planes near the city of Izium and destroyed two ammunition depots, one of which was near the southern city of Mykolaiv.

The Ukrainian military did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
