Russian and Belarusian defense ministers have signed an agreement to deploy Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.
Nuclear weapons will be redeployed 30 years after Belarus gave up its nuclear weapons in accordance with the Budapest Memorandum of 1994.
Belarus has already sent a military unit to Russia last month to receive nuclear weapons training, focusing on the Iskander missile.

The mobile deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus means that nuclear weapons have approached the borders of NATO member states Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.
Russia, however, insisted that it had not violated the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and was abiding by all obligations under international law.
The United States immediately condemned it as irresponsible.
It warned of serious consequences if nuclear weapons were used, but said it had yet to find any indication of its use by Russia.
Russia recently mentioned the possibility of using nuclear weapons in protest of the Ukrainian military’s F-16 fighter pilot training.
The deployment of tactical nuclear weapons is expected to be used as a means of sending a warning to the West supporting Ukraine.
