Russia demands that the US pay compensation for Covid-19 from its research program

MOSCOW – Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin warned the United States (US) may owe the world huge compensation for the damage caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Volodin’s statement on Wednesday (6/7/2022) quoted a statement made by the chairman of the Lancet commission about this disease.

In a recent report, The Lancet Commission Chair Jeffrey Sachs said the SARS-CoV-2 or Covid-19 virus may have originated from a United States research program.

Speaking in Madrid last month, economist Jeffrey Sachs called the current situation “a mess” and blamed weak American leadership for it.

He identified the pandemic as one of the US’s failures. He said he believed the virus “came out of a US biotechnology lab” as opposed to evolving naturally.

He cites his experience with the authoritative British medical magazine.

Volodin asserted, “The US government will not comment on Sachs’ statements because US President Joe Biden fears the world will learn the truth about the true cause of the pandemic.
