Russia Demands Action from US for Grain Agreement Renewal in the Black Sea

Russia is demanding action from the US, not empty promises, if it is to agree to rejoin the grain deal.

According to Russia, the USA has not done enough to remove obstacles to Russian exports of food and fertiliser.

– If they want to contribute to a renewal of the grain agreement, the Americans must also fulfill the part of the agreement that concerns Russian exports, not just promise that they will think about it, says Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

– As soon as it is done, the agreement will be immediately renewed, he promises.

In July, Russia rejected an extension of the grain agreement with Ukraine, meaning that Ukraine can no longer export grain via the Black Sea without its ships being at risk of Russian attack.
