Russia continues to shell the populated areas of the Donetsk region
One of the strongest and most victim-bearing attacks of the last few days took place on July 9 in the city of Khasivyar, Donetsk region. Russian forces shelled the city from Uragan missile systems, almost completely destroying a multi-storey residential building. Preliminary information indicates that at least six people have lost their lives, but dozens more could be under the ruins of the building. Later it was reported that 15 people died, but five people were pulled alive from the rubble.
Also, strikes were carried out in the vicinity of Krivijriha, but there were no casualties.
Expert: Russia continues to maintain the intensity of attacks
Although in recent days there has been a lot of talk about a kind of operational pause that would allow Russian forces to regain strength, receive the necessary ammunition and reorganize for new attacks, military expert Andrejs Zhdanov believes that the initial predictions about the operational pause at the front have not really been confirmed. According to him, Russia continues to maintain the intensity of attacks, sparing no resources.
“Russian forces are attacking Kramatorsk, Sloviansk and Bakhmut to the last Russian soldier. No one is sparing anyone and they are trying to maintain the pace of the attack. They are not very successful in this, because the forces are very tired. We have taken new defensive positions and our firepower has also increased , because military aid is being received from outside. However, Russia also plans to start a new stage in the fight for Donbass and especially for the Donetsk region,” explains Andrejs Zhdanov.
Russia has 22,000 vacancies for contract work in the Armed Forces
In terms of resources, Russia has still not started general mobilization, but there are reports that there are currently more than 22 thousand vacancies for contract work in the Armed Forces in the regions of Russia.
Seven units that have previously fought in Ukraine, including committing alleged war crimes in Buch, are ready to recruit snipers, drivers, medical instructors and other specialists.
The advance of Russian forces is significantly hampered by Ukrainian strikes on warehouses
The advance of the Russian forces is significantly hampered by the now regular strikes on Russian ammunition depots by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Also on Saturday, attacks were carried out on the invaders’ command posts, equipment and ammunition depots in the now legendary Chornobayvka of the Kherson region, and this is the 26th time that Russian forces have suffered serious losses here.
Experts call to pay attention to Kharkiv
Although the liberation of the Kherson region is one of the main priorities in order to guarantee the security of Odessa and beyond, also of Moldova and Transnistria, experts call for attention to be paid to Kharkiv, where the attacks of Russian forces are not decreasing.
Representatives of the Kharkiv administration, loyal to the occupation regime, have declared that the Kharkiv region is an integral part of the Russian land. And as analysts of the Institute of War Research conclude, Russia’s plan not only to seize all Donetsk and Luhansk regions, but also to annex Kharkiv region is becoming increasingly visible.
Authorities loyal to the invaders have already displayed the region’s new flag, which features both the double-headed eagle of the Russian Empire and symbols from the 18th-century coat of arms of Kharkiv.
CONTEXT:
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to start invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine. Putin claimed that NATO was going to use Ukraine as a springboard for aggression against Russia, although there was no evidence for these claims. Ukraine believes that Putin’s real goal is to destroy Ukrainian statehood and bring the territory under Moscow’s control.
Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has caused a general condemnation of the international communityagainst Russia more and more sanctions are introduced. Many western companies have decided to leave the Russian market.
