The Russian authorities have confirmed this Saturday another 21,000 more cases and more than 490 deaths from coronavirus during the last 24 hours, and it already exceeds the threshold of 69,000 deaths, as the operational center for the fight against the pandemic has collected.
The agency has detailed that during the last day 21,127 cases and 491 deaths have been detected, which places the total at 3,719,400 affected and 69,462 deaths.
Most of the new infections were detected in the Russian capital (3,069), in Saint Petersburg (2,929) and in the province of Moscow (1,134). In the section of deaths, the most affected areas were the capital (74 deaths), Saint Petersburg (61 new deaths), Moscow (64) and the province of Moscow (37).
According to the operational center, 24,445 people were discharged in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 3,133,760.
In Moscow, 5,117 patients were discharged; in St. Petersburg, 2,260; and in the province of Moscow, 1,189.
According to the national consumer protection office, Rospotrebnadzor, in Russia more than 99.3 million coronavirus tests have been carried out to date, including about 441,000 in the last day.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobianin signed an order on Thursday to ease some of the restrictions imposed on the city, after pointing to “cautious optimism” about epidemiological data in recent weeks.
The authorities began on Monday a new phase of the vaccination campaign in which the general population can already be immunized, after considering that the population at risk is already vaccinated, for which the number of vaccination points will be increased.
