Russia Completes First Stage of Flight Testing for TRAMP Long-Range Transport Drone

In Russia, the first stage of flight testing of the new long-range transport drone TRAMP (transport aviation multifunctional platform) has been completed.

Told the agency about this RIA Novosti one of the developers. He explained that during the tests, the key tactical and technical characteristics of the product included in the design were confirmed.

At the same time, the interlocutor noted that “there were some incidents.” According to him, one of the two devices during the landing stage, due to an automatic failure, left the runway and crashed.

“He is currently recovering. This is the first stage of flight testing, it is difficult to avoid emergency situations,” the designer admitted.

He assured that the company’s specialists are finding out the cause of the emergency. After adjustments are made to the project, the company intends to move on to flights with a payload.

It is noted that TRAMP is capable of transporting up to 250 kilograms of cargo over a distance of over 600 kilometers. The vehicle has a large cargo compartment with a volume of 2650 liters, which allows you to transfer and parachute oversized cargo to a given point. The cruising speed of the device is 195 kilometers per hour, the cruising ceiling is 3 thousand meters.

The drone is equipped with a reinforced chassis with large-diameter pneumatic tires, which allows it to take off and land on short, poorly prepared areas. There is also a built-in parachute rescue system.

Previously EADaily reported that there were no casualties at the crash site of the downed Ukrainian drone in the Smolensk region. The head of the region stated this Vasily Anokhin.
