Putin in 2018 unveiled a range of new weapons including new intercontinental ballistic missiles, small nuclear warheads that can be mounted on cruise missiles, underwater nuclear drones, supersonic weapons and laser weapons.

Little is known about what exactly the laser weapon, the Peresvet was named after, was named after a medieval Orthodox warrior monk, Alexander Peresvet who died in mortal combat. Putin gave some details back in 2018 and the laser details are a secret.
Yury Borisov, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister in charge of military development, told a conference in Moscow that Peresvet is already in widespread use and can blind satellites up to 1,500 km above Earth.
He cited a test on Tuesday that he said had burned the drone 5km away in five seconds. Reuters could not independently confirm the test.

“It is already mass supplied to the (missile) troops, and it can blind all satellite reconnaissance systems of possible enemies in orbit up to 1,500 km away, incapacitating them during flight due to the use of laser radiation,” Borisov said, as quoted by Reuters.
“But that’s, say, today, or even in some ways yesterday: our physicists have now created, and practically mass-produced, laser systems that are an order of magnitude more powerful that can inflict thermal damage on a wide range of equipment.”
