“At the same time, I want to emphasize that specialists from foreign countries, say mercenaries, are directing it at the target. I don’t rule out the possibility that there are Americans working there,” he added.

“Indeed, this weapon is serious, but there is an antidote, namely our air defense facilities,” he continued as quoted by Antara detikINET from Nesweek, Friday (12/7/2022), while claiming that Russia managed to shoot down 12 missile attacks from the Ukrainian side.

The US-delivered weapon system is the M142 HIMARS type MLRS. There is a variant capable of firing up to hundreds of kilometers, but the version sent to Ukraine can only fire at 80 kilometers to avoid reaching Russian territory.

HIMARS it is easy to move and can be operated by only 8 soldiers. Another big plus, the GPS guidance system makes it claimed to be very accurate in shooting targets.
