Jakarta, CNBC IndonesiaRussia bombed world food warehouses in Ukraine, Tuesday. This is related to grain storage facilities at one of the important ports of the country’s main exporter of wheat and sunflower seed oil.

“The enemy targeted port infrastructure and the Danube River border,” said Ukraine’s general prosecutor’s office, publishing photos of destroyed grain warehouses and burned trucks, quoted Wednesday (27/9/2023).

“Two truck drivers were injured as a result of the attack. The barn, administration building and vehicles carrying goods were damaged,” he said.

The attacks are the latest on grain and port facilities since July. Russia itself has launched attacks on Kyiv’s food exports after leaving the agreement Black Sea Grain Deal (Black Sea Grain Agreement).

Previously, it guaranteed the safety of Ukrainian grain shipments in the Black Sea to combat the global food crisis. Initially, the agreement initiated by Turkey and the UN was set for a period of 120 days by providing a safe maritime corridor for exports from Ukraine and was then extended.

Russia left on the grounds that Ukrainian exports were not on target. In addition, Russia considers the deal one-sided because Russian exports are still subject to sanctions.

Meanwhile, the military said 38 Iranian-made attack drones were launched by Russia into Ukraine overnight. A total of 26 were shot down.

On the same page, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Kirovohrad regions were also attacked. According to the local prosecutor, 12 people were injured in the Kherson region as a result of several Russian attacks.

“The Russian missile attack also damaged a local company in the southern town of Kryvyi Rih,” the local mayor said.

Together with Russia, Ukraine is known as one of the world’s suppliers of agricultural products with a total production of 29% of wheat, 19% of corn and 78% of sunflower oil from global needs. According to the World Resources Institute, price increases have occurred since the war, on average up to 41% and 28%, respectively, for ganging and corn.
