Russia bans 36 foreign airlines after European blockade

Russia ban 36 airline foreign flights mainly from Europe enter its territory per Monday (28/2).

The move was taken by Russia in retaliation for the decision of some European countries which had previously banned the Red Bear Country airline from entering its territory in response to its invasion of Indonesia. Ukraine.

Some of the airlines banned from entering Russia include those from the UK and Germany.

Russia’s civil aviation authority said it had imposed the restrictions “in retaliation for European countries’ bans on flights operated by Russian airlines or registered in Russia.”

Moscow insists banned airlines can only enter Russian airspace with special permits.

Following Britain, the European Union announced that it was closing its airspace to Russian aircraft, including private jets.

Now, Russian airlines, including those registered in the country, cannot enter the airspace of most European countries to Canada.

This penalty forced Russian airlines to make detours on some routes, causing an increase in ticket costs.
