Did his parents just forget him on the balcony?
In the Russian city of Nikolayevsk on the Amur (Khabarovsk region in the east of the country), a seven-month-old baby froze to death in a stroller – because his parents left the stroller outside for far too long.
As local authorities announced on Monday, the mother would have taken the little boy out into the fresh air so that he could sleep better. Fatal: Apparently the parents left their child in the freezing cold for several hours.
After five hours, the mother found that the boy was no longer alive. According to the information, he died of hypothermia.
It was not reported whether the balcony was open or how often it was protected with panes in Russia. There were reports of severe frost at that time, with temperatures down to minus 20 degrees.
The Russian investigative authorities have now initiated criminal proceedings after an investigation at the scene of the accident.
