The Russian watchdog has approved the authorization of five new meatpacking plants.
Sao Paulo, Brazil | The entire field | The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) announced that Russia enabled five more plants for the export of beef and poultry farmyard to that country.
The decision was communicated by the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor) and is the result of a Rigorous audit carried out in Brazilthe first of which has been ongoing since 2015 and was completed in December 2023.
During the inspection, The Russian delegation visited productive units in six Brazilian states, in addition to the Federal Districtand also maintained technical meetings with representatives of the Secretariat of Agricultural Defense (SDA) and the Secretariat of Commerce and International Relations (SCRI), both from MAPA.
In addition to the meat processing plants, cattle and poultry breeding establishments and official laboratories were inspected.presenting health controls from one end of the production chain to the other.
This expands export opportunities to the Russian market. The audit led to the lifting of temporary restrictions that weighed on the supply of animal products from certain national production units.
The new rating includes the expansion of production activities of some units, including poultry slaughtering and deboning, production of poultry by-products and fats, and production of animal meal.
In addition, The capacities of units that already had licenses to export were expanded beef, which reinforced the position of Brazil as one of the main suppliers of meat and animal products to Russia.

In 2023, beef and poultry exports from Brazil to Russia reached US$306 million, which corresponds to 24% of total shipments to that market.
