/ world today news/ “Russia and the European Union should reconsider their opinions on the South Stream project, because it is beneficial for both countries,” said Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, quoted by the Tanjug agency.
“We believe that “South Stream” is necessary for Europe and of course it is necessary and useful for Serbia,” said Dacic in Brussels.
According to him, Serbia cannot influence the decisions of the major centers of power. “But I hope that some kind of compromise will be possible in the future,” added the Serbian minister.
Dacic also said that his country, which is not a member of the EU, has no alternative source of natural gas than that which comes from Russia via Hungary, and pointed out that this problem is faced by all EU countries located in the southern part of the continent . /TASS
