Russia and Comoros undertake not to place weapons in space

Vasily Nebenzya has ensured the signing of an agreement with the Comoros

On the Russian side, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, signed the document.

The attacking country Russia and Comoros have signed a joint declaration not to be the first to place weapons in space. This is reported TAX Monday 19 September.

On the Russian side, the document was signed by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzya, on the Comorian side – by the Permanent Representative to the UN Issimail Shanfi.

It is indicated that this declaration was signed as part of the Russian initiative not to be the first to place weapons in space, which more than 30 states have already joined.

“These measures build confidence in cooperation in space. We want it to be peaceful,” Nebenzya said.

The Comoros are an archipelago in the Indian Ocean between Madagascar and Africa. At the same time, the Comorian security forces are made up of a small regular army and a police force of 500, as well as 500 members of the defense forces. The Comoros only have 10 planes and helicopters which are not intended for military purposes.

We remember November 2021 Russia shot down the Tselina-D satellite in orbit. Then the United States claimed that due to the Russian tests, debris had formed on the orbit, which would pose a threat to space activities for many years to come.
