White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki was asked during a press conference on Friday when Washington was asked about President Joe Biden’s views on strengthening relations between Moscow and Beijing through the lens of his broader foreign policy objectives.
“Yes, we — the president sees it — look at it because we have our own relationship with China,” said Psaki, who had previously avoided initial questions related to the situation around Ukraine, was quoted as saying. Russia Today, Saturday (5/2/2022).

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently spoke with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. “[Mereka] underscores the global security and economic risks posed by further Russian aggression against Ukraine,” Psaki said.
“We have also conveyed that the destabilizing conflict in Europe will impact China’s interests around the world. And of course, China should know that.”
The situation around Ukraine has been at the heart of US foreign policy over the past few months, with top officials and Western media repeatedly warning about an impending “invasion” of the country by Russia.
Moscow has consistently denied having any such plans.
Earlier on Friday, Russia and China released a joint statement announcing their plans to deepen their cooperation in a large number of areas.
The joint statement comes amid Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China at the invitation of his counterpart, Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“Friendship between the two countries has no boundaries, no area of cooperation is ‘forbidden’,” their joint statement read.
The two countries have expressed a common stance on NATO’s expansion, one of the main issues in strained relations with the West for Moscow.
“The parties oppose NATO’s further expansion and call on the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) to refrain from ideological approaches since the Cold War,” the statement continued, urging the US-led bloc to respect the sovereignty, security and interests of other nations.
