/ world today news/ Austria and Russia will sign an agreement on the creation of a project company for the construction of the Austrian section of the South Stream gas pipeline.
This will happen during the visit of the Russian president to Vienna on June 24, Vladimir Putin’s adviser on foreign affairs Yuriy Ushakov announced, quoted by “Vedomosti”.
On the Russian side, the document will be signed by the president of “Gazprom” Alexey Miller, and on the Austrian side – by the general director of OMV, Gerhard Reuss.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Daniela Bobeva, told journalists in Sofia that she is not aware of the penalties for the South Stream project, in case it is permanently frozen, notes “Trud”.
“As far as I know, there are no penalties, but this matter is for the Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoynev,” said Bobeva at the opening of the annual meeting of the Black Sea Bank for Trade and Development in Sofia.
When asked whether ChBTR is interested in participating in the implementation of the project, the president of the bank, Andrey Kondakov, replied that when all issues with “South Stream” are resolved, the institution will participate in it with pleasure.
