(CNN) Russia’s interior ministry on Monday added two senior Ukrainian military officials to its wanted list following a series of drone attacks on Moscow province.
Added to the list are the top Ukrainian army commander-in-chief Zarzhny and the top Ukrainian army commander-in-chief Shirsky.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is also investigating Mr. Shirsky and Mr. Zarzhny for attacks on “civilian and civilian objects in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine.”
Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on the same day that the drone attack allowed Russia to take “the most stringent measures”.
“Russia reserves the right to take the toughest measures in retaliation for terrorist attacks in Ukraine,” the ministry said. “Assurances from NATO officials that Ukraine will not attack deep into Russian territory have proven to be completely hypocritical,” it added.
Ukraine has denied direct involvement in the attack on Moscow.
Eight drones were shot down in the Moscow region, and the Federal Investigative Committee has launched an investigation, according to Russian authorities.
