Not against a new challenge and the possibility of finally getting a ring, Russell Westbrook is delighted at the idea of joining the Lakers. This Friday evening, he also posted a message on Instagram that ignites the entire Laker Nation.
More than 24 hours after the news, we finally start to realize: yes, Russell Westbrook will wear the legendary purple and gold tunic of the Lakers on his shoulders. If some consultants are already wondering about the compatibility of the Big Three star, evoking in particular a lack of shoot in the Californian roster, the fans, them, are in heaven.
This is also the case with the Brodie himself, who seems to be eager to do battle and have the chance to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy again. After a first reaction last nightWestbrook posted a new post, photo montage, which speaks volumes about his desire to shine in the City of Angels:

The reason why Russell Westbrook asked for his trade

Indeed, this trade in Los Angeles marks a homecoming for Westbrook. A native of Long Beach in the southern suburbs of LA, the leader has not evolved in his native state since his time at UCLA in college. A real eternity, which ends to the delight of the now former acolyte of Bradley Beal in Washington.
The Brodie also seems to indicate that he will indeed recover the number 0, which he had worn for the vast majority of his career before opting for the 4 on the DC side. And too bad for Mac McClung, who was offered a contract for the Lakers training camp, and who had taken possession of the famous number a little too quickly !
As a reminder, Russell Westbrook is coming off an impressive season despite some health concerns. At 32, he averaged 22.2 points, 11.5 rebounds and 11.7 assists (career-high). His three-point shot is however still unreliable, and rightly raises some questions in a team that needs spacing and skill.
Russell Westbrook is already boiling hot, and knowing his intensity, Lakers fans will love him. Once again, the message is clear in LA with this shattering move: the title or nothing!
