Master & Commander
Berlin (dpa) – Oscar winner Russell Crowe (“Gladiator”) has defended his film “Master & Commander – Until the End of the World” against criticism from a Twitter user.
“That’s the problem with children today. You have no concentration, ”wrote the 56-year-old on the short message service. The user had previously recommended the film as a sleep aid – and marked Crowe in the post. “I never made it past the 10-minute mark,” said the tweet.
A week later, Crowe responded: The film tells an “epic story” that is “brilliant”, “demanding” and “with great attention to detail”. His conclusion: «Definitely an adult film».
In “Master & Commander” in 2003, Crowe played a charismatic and power-conscious captain of a British warship. Director Peter Weir’s cinema adventure cost $ 140 million.
