“Thor: Love and Thunder” is well cast down to the smallest roles. And now another top star is joining: Russel Crowe.
Another superstar moving from DC to Marvel: How Deadline reports, Russell Crowe is also part of the already great ensemble of “Thor: Love and Thunder” around Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster alias Mighty Thor, Christian Bale as Gorr the butcher of the gods, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif. Not to mention the Guardians of the Galaxy. Bale previously played the Dark Knight in Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy, while Crowe was Superman’s biological father Jor-El in “Man of Steel”. Most recently he was seen as a road rage psychopath in the thriller “Unhinged”.

It is not known what role Crowe plays in “Thor: Love and Thunder”. But it is said that it should just be a nice cameo that was intended as a surprise for the fans. The surprise didn’t come to that, because the 56-year-old was spotted at a rugby game together with members of the “Thor 4” cast, including Jeff Goldblum (via AND Canada). And so the official confirmation follows immediately.
The shooting of the next “Thor” solo film is currently taking place in Sidney. Taika Waititi is back as a director after “Thor: Decision Day”. There is currently no further information on the plot itself. Certainly – or not – is currently only the expected German theatrical release on 5. May 2022.
In the cinema, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will not continue until July, when “Black Widow” starts. This shows you which films are still waiting for you Video:
