London Police she heard comedian and actor Russell Brand, who has been facing charges of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse since September. His victims were four women, one of whom was only 16 years old. The acts should have taken place between 2006 and 2013 (we wrote here).
The charges were brought following a joint investigation by the Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 Dispatches. Brand denied all the allegations, saying that during the most successful period of his career, he had many more or less serious relationships, but all of them were consensual.
Britain’s Scotland Yard said in a statement that “a man in his 40s arrived for questioning at a south London station on Thursday in relation to three incidents of sexual assault and harassment”. He did not specifically name Brando, the website reported DW. Police said the investigation is continuing.
