The actor Ruslan Maynov brought tears to the eyes of the whole of Bulgaria during last night’s live of “Like Two Drops of Water” with the performance of the song “Children’s Planet”. The comedian had to play 12-year-old Krisia, who performs the song for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Everyone expected the image of little Krisia to be parodied, albeit unintentionally by Ruslan, due to differences in gender and age. However, thanks to the emotionality that Maynov put into the song, the exact opposite happened. The audience rose to their feet, and his performance was highly praised by the audience of “Drops”.
Ruslan was clearly sympathetic to the meaning of Children’s Planet, linking it to current events in Ukraine, and he was born in Ukraine and has relatives who have remained in the country and are currently experiencing the horrors of war.
He did not hide his deep sadness and concern about what was happening, but did not want to comment on the topic. However, everyone saw the tears in his eyes during the performance.
