This Wednesday, November 29, the “Atmoda” Culture House will host the concert film “Rūsa. 35-year anniversary concert” premiere.
The film of the “Rūsa” anniversary concert was produced by producer Igor Lingas. This very well-attended concert took place in the heavy music club “Black Friday” on October 14, 2022, but the fact that the 35-year celebration was also documented in a film is a big and pleasant surprise.
In the introduction of the concert film, several representatives of rock music speak about the revelers (that is, the band “Rūsa”), but then not only the already known hits “Only Rock’n’Roll”, “Long live March 8”, “Bez ten ten ten” are played. “, “Sūdu talka”, “Rain”, “Hormon storms”, “Your beautiful face” etc., but also pieces not heard in other live performances, as the program was also prepared with the early repertoire for the anniversary occasion. It should be reminded that at the concert “Rūsa” played in its last year’s line-up – the forever cozy vocalist/bassist Viesturs Polikarps aka Poliks, virtuoso soloist Guntars Endzelis aka Gunča and drum expert Pauls Ozols aka Chirkainais. The concert was also attended by Žerārs Filips, Agris Rostok and Ilmārs Vekters from the first line-up of “Rūsa”, as well as other former band members Jānis Levits or Levča and piano virtuoso Gints Žilinskis, while “Rūsa”-friendly groups were guests – the revived after more than twenty years of silence the first Latvian girl rock band “Šķembas” and “hc”/punk rock explosive flag bearers “Johnny And The Burnouts”.
