About 30 m³ of fodder went up in smoke. The hay was stored near a shed which houses other bales of forage and animals. But the farmer’s responsiveness and the work of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading. By late morning, the fire was under control. The operator, secured by the presence of firefighters, spread the burnt fodder to prevent the fire from starting again.

Significant resources were deployed on the incident. The firefighters of Moyeuvre-Grande, Metzervisse, Hagondange, Thionville and Yutz were mobilized.
