In 2021, the Landjugend Pinzgau will focus on the regional characteristics of the district.
Culture, customs, landscape, dialect, … – the Pinzgau is unique in many ways. The Landjugend Pinzgau also wants to show this as part of a project and is in the middle of planning for an exciting club year.
The first online beer tasting with the owner of the Pinzgau Bräu company took place in February. Master brewer Hans-Peter Hochstaffl explained the special features of the various types of craft beer produced using traditional methods. More than 30 members of the various rural youth groups from the Pinzgau took part in the event at home, in front of the screen.
Another highlight was the first online cooking course on the subject of Pinzgauer food. Speaker Monika Steiner from Piesendorf prepared “Geamkråpfn” (lard pastries made from yeast dough with sauerkraut or jam), “Wetzstoa-Nudl” (yeast dough filled with jam) and a “Kasfårfen- Soup ”(potato dough with cheese in soup), over 20 participants cooked at home. Due to the positive feedback and numerous participations, another cooking course is planned for March 27th. Since Easter is just around the corner on this date, in addition to “Easchdepfenidai” (potato dough noodle-shaped fried in a pan), an Easter plait and “Easter stain” (Easter wreath) are also prepared.
“Even if no events are currently possible, we want to show our almost one thousand members that activities are possible and that we will remain active,” said Thomas Steiner, Deputy Chairman. and corporate officer of the Pinzgau district board. “Of course we are looking forward to the time when we can meet again, because not everything can be replaced online,” adds chairman Andreas Steiner.
In addition to a fence building course, in which the traditional production of the Pinzgau fence is learned, a dialect campaign, several agricultural circles, a “Gstanzl course” and a “dance music evening” are on the program in spring and summer.
