The towns that benefited from 1,000 copies each were La Criolla, Los Charrúas, Colonia Roca, Clodomiro Ledesma and El Redomón. The representatives of these communities, Andrea Imoberdoff (Municipal President of Los Charrúas), Fernando Astudilla (Communal President of Clodomiro Ledesma), María Inés Capriotti (President of the Governing Board of Colonia Roca), Roberto Benay (President of the Governing Board of El Redomón) and Antonio Panozzo (Secretary of Government of La Criolla), were accompanied by Silvina Fleitas, Coordinator of Boards and Communes of the Concordia Department, during the delivery.
Municipal President Francisco Azcué stressed the importance of this program: “Access to books is a fundamental right, and with these libraries we seek to ensure that everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, has access to educational resources. It is key to strengthening education in rural areas, and we will continue working so that more communities can enjoy these opportunities,” said Azcué.
For his part, the Undersecretary of Education, Carlos Gatto, expressed his satisfaction at being able to bring these resources to the rural towns of the department. “Not only do we bring knowledge with this delivery of books, but we also contribute to forming reading communities, strengthening the social fabric in each of these places with quality educational materials,” he said.
The initiative was made possible by the efforts of the Undersecretary of Education with the Argentine Rural Libraries Program and had the logistical support of the Salto Grande Joint Technical Commission (CTM) for the transfer of books from Buenos Aires.
