TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Exchange rate (exchange rate) rupiah against the US dollar, which was traded between banks in Jakarta on Tuesday morning, strengthened in line with optimism amid the spread of the Omicron variant.
This morning, the rupiah moved up 4 points or 0.03 percent to Rp. 14,225 per US dollar compared to the position at the close of the previous trade of Rp. 14,229 per US dollar.
“The market is still sufficient bullish, as seen from the increase in the S&P500 index reached a record, seen risk on global,” said Bank Mandiri money market analyst Rully Arya when contacted in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 28, 2021.
Risk on are market conditions that indicate that market participants are optimistic about the prospects for conditions economy which is getting better.
Market participants’ interest in risk assets today is seen increasing amid easing market concerns about the spread and effect of the variance Omicron.
According to Rully, this week it is possible that the movement of the rupiah will not experience too much volatility and will be relatively stable.
