With the change to the winter time, the sports department of the state capital Düsseldorf is again launching the “Running under floodlights” offer at selected regional sports facilities.
The days are getting shorter and it’s getting harder to cover the usual running distance in the light after work. Therefore, from November 4, 2024 to March 28, 2025, the light will be switched on in the evening at the following five municipal sports facilities:
Arena Sports Park: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm
Lierenfeld district sports facility: Tuesday and Thursday from 6 pm to 8 pm
Sportpark Niederheid: Monday and Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm
Düsseltal area sports facility: Monday and Thursday from 6 pm to 8 pm
Instead of Waldstadion: Wednesday and Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm
“Running under floodlights” is a measure of Düsseldorf’s action plan within the framework of the European Charter for Equality with a focus on sports. The lighting on the selected sports facilities gives a sense of security and creates the best training conditions.
