With bells and flags from different countries, thousands of fans celebrated the fifty thousand runners who participated in the New York Marathon.

In its 53rd edition, the New York Marathon was broadcast live for the first time on television, radio and digital platforms around the world.
The broadcast was carried by ESPN and ABC and reached approximately 530 million homes in 200 countries.
The race started Sunday morning in Staten Island, covered 26.2 miles and passed through the five boroughs before reaching the final stretch in Central Park.
Some Latino New York runners participated in the marathon.
“Running I feel free like I’m flying, liberated,” said Johanna Jiménez.
This is the sixth time he has run this marathon.
“It’s very difficult, very difficult, in my mind, but I start thinking about my friends, my family, my children and I do it for them,” said Jiménez.
Hundreds of police checked the security of this big event.
The race only brought us tourists and weirdos. Athletes who participated in Marathons in other countries came from different countries to support the athletes.
“It’s a strange feeling because this is the first time I went to the public and I would like to be inside but today we will enjoy it in a different way,” said Jordi Sabriá, Spanish marathon runner.
Meanwhile, Daniela Lara ran in the Chicago marathon recently and came with her family to support her boyfriend.
“I like it, I mean, I think it’s an amazing event, I mean, joy is something good, seeing everyone running, no it’s something really, really exciting,” explained Lara.
The winners of this historic marathon were in the men’s category, Abde Nageeye with a time of two hours and seven minutes, from the Netherlands, and in the women’s category, the Kenyan Ta Sheila Chepkirui with a time of two hours and twenty four minutes. .
