The only mountain racing championship with monetary prizes in the country (S/. 25,000), the Perú Trail Series, completed its second date of the 2024 season this last weekend and took place in the Calango Valley, at south of Lima.
After the success of the first day in the mythical Sanctuary of Amancay in Pachacamac, this time the registration record was broken again and there were more than 950 participants, divided between the 4 distances.
The winners in 21K were Leida Diaz and José Manuel Quispe, in 14K Gaby Álvarez del Solar and Ángel Robles and in 8K Lucelina Cubas and Juan José Morales. The 2K distance was exclusively for children.
On this occasion, the route was very hard but satisfactory for all participants, who were able to test their physical states. The route was intense and difficult, with quite a few unevenness and different types of terrain: technical, mixed, sandy, with false planes, ups and downs. A complete route that was also made difficult by the intense summer heat.
The test could be developed thanks to the support of Electrolight, Fitpoint, Nutripoint, Unacem, Buff & Petzl. The next date will be in Lomas de Asia on Saturday, March 2 and registration is still open.
The fourth and final day, which will reward the best in each distance and in the 21K with S/.25,000, equally in Ladies and Men, will be none other than San Lorenzo Island, off the coast of Callao on the 13th. of April.
