Runner Stewart broke the 22-year-old Czech record at 10,000 meters

Moira Stewart set a Czech record of 10,000 meters at the European Cup in France. With a time of 32: 08.96 minutes at the stadium in the Brittany town of Pacé, she surpassed Alena Peterková’s performance in 2000 by more than 18 seconds.

Stewart improved her own maximum from the April domestic championship in Otrokovice by almost 43 seconds. In the race, she finished sixth just behind fourth-placed Valeriya Zininkova and Spanish-run Maitane Meler.

The Turkish representative of Kenyan origin, Yasemin Can, won. The 2016 European Champion achieved a time of 31: 20.18.
