Runergy Alabama Inc., the U.S. base of Chinese solar power manufacturer Runergy, has opened its first module factory in the country in Huntsville, Alabama. The company plans to scale up production to reach an annual rated output of 2 GW with n-type technology.
Alabama Luna Gy called it the 1st solar panel production facility of this kind in Alabama. The state-of-the-art solar module manufacturing facility is scheduled to begin its first production run. st Customer order in June 2025.
Management said this is an important addition to the company’s globalization strategy, in line with the company’s plans to expand into the North American market and establish a strong domestic supply chain.

Runergy, one of the world’s leading Chinese solar cell manufacturers, has entered the solar module manufacturing business. Currently, the annual production capacity is 55,000 tons of industrial silicon, 130,000 tons of polysilicon, 7GW of ingots, 10GW of wafers, 57GW of solar cells, and 13GW of solar modules.
In April 2024, Tongwei, a Chinese polysilicon to module manufacturer, entered into a capital increase agreement to acquire a majority stake in Runergy worth RMB 5 billion, with the aim of strengthening its manufacturing base in overseas markets.
