Götschl is moving from her hometown club USKO Melk to Union St. Pölten.

The running talent Katharina Götschl has been running for USKO Melk since autumn 2015. One of her first major successes was the gold medal in the cross-country running team (together with Helene Waxenecker and Barbara Dür) at the state and national championships. She was crowned national champion a total of 21 times and won the Austrian championship title six times. She ran the LC Mank for her second club in several fun races.

Her career continued with victories on the mountain running ÖM in the U18 and U20 age groups. Through ambitious, consistent training, she soon became one of the best hurdlers in Austria in her age group. This was followed by participation in the U20 European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon and participation in the U20 European Championships in Tallinn over the 3,000 meter hurdles. Katharina Götschl has been studying in the USA for three years. On the Austrian best list this year, she tops the 3,000 meters (9:26) and 5,000 meters (16.29) in both the U23 and general classes.

“With NÖLV and the President of Union St. Pölten Gottfried Lammerhuber, I was able to move from Götschl to Union St. Pölten, where she has the best environment with the national hips coach and another strong middle distance athlete. On behalf of USKO Melk, I would like to thank you for your excellent performance and great success,” explained Herbert Temper.
