Jakarta –
Social media is abuzz with rumors about someone minister strangled a deputy minister at a cabinet meeting. In this issue, the minister was said to have the status of a presidential candidate. The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), which was mentioned in this issue, provided a denial.
This issue was raised by a Twitter user via video. The netizen said this issue arose because of the crowd in a chat group. He said a member of the group asked about the issue of a minister choking and slapping a deputy minister before the meeting.
According to the netizen’s account, the ministers then broke up the minister who was said to be strangling him and also the deputy minister who was strangled and slapped. The speaker of this issue said he received the story about the strangulation about 10 days ago from an informant who was a staff member who was present at the meeting.
He said the presidential candidate was angry with one of the ministers because there was work that the relevant ministry was not helping with. This work is said to involve cross-ministries. The presidential candidate, who is also a minister, was said to be waiting for the minister, but the deputy minister was present, so his anger was vented.
The figure of the minister in this wild issue is associated with Prabowo Subianto. Meanwhile, the deputy minister in question is the Deputy Minister of Agriculture. The Ministry of Agriculture this afternoon, Monday (18/9/2023), denied the issue that was currently being discussed.
The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed that Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Harvick Hasnul Qolbi, had not attended the meeting at the Palace on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture in the last 10 days.
“We have checked the Deputy Minister of Agriculture’s agenda in the last 10 days, there is no agenda for him to attend the Ratas at the Palace representing Mr. Minister of Agriculture SYL,” said Arief Cahyono, Chair of the Reporting Substance and Strakom Group, Secretariat General of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Arief added that it was impossible for there to be a Ratas agenda that did not go through the protocols at the Ministry of Agriculture, so that the news circulating did not match the information scheduled in the agenda of the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Arief also confirmed the Ministry of Agriculture’s press statement and denied rumors that Prabowo slapped the Deputy Minister of Agriculture. “Yes, it’s related to the busy news,” he said.
