Rumors Indicate New StarCraft Development: Will Microsoft Revive the Franchise?

Could a new StarCraft be in development? Journalist Jez Corden says yes. He claimed, respectively. One of his followers asked him on Twitter if he thought Microsoft could revive this strategic brand by buying Activision Blizzard. Corden replied that Microsoft does not need to revive anything, which understandably raised the suspicion in others that this meant that the next part was already being worked on. When asked specifically by another player if he was referring to the triple and if he knew anything about it, Corden simply replied, “Yes.”

The fact that Corden later deleted these tweets only fueled the fans’ tension. But they were noticed, for example, by a magazine Insider Gaming. Did he say something he shouldn’t have? Or, on the contrary, he does not trust the information enough and swept away its traces (unsuccessfully) when it started to spread? Only Corden himself knows that at this point. But it must be emphasized that Jez Corden repeatedly comes up with various revelations in his articles on Windows Central magazine, which are later confirmed, so players take it seriously.

The first StarCraft was released in 1998. The second one arrived in 2010 and in 2017 we saw StarCraft: Remastered. Given the brand’s popularity, it wouldn’t be surprising if Blizzard was already thinking about a sequel. On the other hand, Warcraft fans would undoubtedly be disappointed that their turn is still not coming.
