When asked whether there was an internal conflict between the parties so that his position as deputy chairman of the DPRD was informed that he would be replaced by the Chair of the Gerindra faction of the DKI DPRD, Rani Maulani, Taufik stated that he did not know.

Mohammad Taufik has been the chairman of the Advisory Council of the DKI Jakarta Gerindra Party DPD since April 2020. Previously, Taufik carried out the mandate as chairman of the DKI Jakarta Gerindra Party DPD which is now held by DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria.
Under Taufik, Gerindra was able to win in Jakarta. In the 2012 DKI Jakarta Pilkada, the Gerindra Party and PDI-P were able to win the Pilkada so that the pair Joko Widodo and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama became Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta.
Then in the 2017 DKI Pilkada, the pair Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno who were carried by Gerindra and PKS won the pilkada. In the DPRD DKI Jakarta, the party created by Prabowo Subianto is also the second largest party with 19 seats under Taufik’s leadership.
At the end of 2021, Taufik raised the name of former South Tangerang mayor Airin Rachmi Diany as a candidate for governor of DKI Jakarta, instead of favoring Gerindra Party cadres themselves. Taufik also had time to pray for Anies Baswedan to become President of the Republic of Indonesia at the inauguration of the Jaya Islamic Student Association Alumni Corps Regional Council (KAHMI) for the 2022-2027 period in Central Jakarta.
This surprised a number of parties because the Gerindra Party is still carrying Prabowo Subianto as the RI Presidential Candidate (Capres) in 2024. As for the candidate for governor of DKI Jakarta, Gerindra DKI Jakarta also has quite good cadres, such as Ahmad Riza Patria.
