A tour group in Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan Province reported that many people were poisoned after eating, suspected of drinking fake alcohol, which has resulted in one death and one blindness.

A female tourist who participated in a tour group broke the news to the mainland media that she is from Baoding, Hebei Province. She arrived in Chengdu, Sichuan Province with her husband on February 23 and participated in a three-day tour of Jiuzhaigou.
The female tourist said that after arriving in Jiuzhaigou, everyone had dinner at a restaurant designated by the travel agency on the evening of the 25th, and had a drink on the way. “The tour guide said that the Gaojiu here is very delicious, and the locals drink it, and they have been recommending it.”
The female tourist pointed out that there were four or five people drinking at that time, her husband drank about half a catty, and another tourist also drank about half a catty. Blind and two others with neurological damage.”

The female tourist also took out the diagnosis certificate of “methanol poisoning” given by the hospital. She said that the results of her husband’s autopsy have not yet been released, but the hospital’s blood test report showed that “the methanol content in 100 ml of blood is 194 mg.” .
