As exciting as it is to see new games announced for popular and established franchises, nothing beats the introduction of an exciting and brand new IP. Interestingly, we can expect many such games in the very near future.
The Game Awards will take place on the night of December 8th, and speaking recently on an episode of his podcast Game Mess Decides, journalist Jeff Grubb said that from what he’s heard, there will be “a lot of new IP and cool stuff from third parties” at the event. .
Grubb didn’t go into detail, but the few announcements that have already been confirmed or announced at the show seem to point to the same thing, with Sega announcing a “new era” and developer Inscryption seeming to be pointing directly at their next game. It has been confirmed that a new game from Sharkmob and Level Infinite will also be announced.
Whether any major franchises will be on stage remains to be seen, although potential hints were recently dropped regarding a new trailer for Death Stranding 2. Xbox also announced “major announcements” at the show.
