As expected, Samsung is trailing Apple in terms of pricing.

And not so much because they imitate Apple, no just because they can, if the iPhone sells for that money, a Samsung will do the same.

And then one can shout “but Samsung has discounts!”, yes, they would make the price even better if the phones were not so expensive in the first place.

On a sidenote, I can see the Foldables easily passing the 2000 euros for an entry-level model when Apple finally comes up with one itself, because “if Apple sells, we can do that too” principle.

I secretly hope that high-end smartphones will cost double as soon as possible, purely so that people don’t get used to it and cut it off, there will always be “a few crazy people” who cough it up, but most people then skip the high-end market, and maybe that’s just the blow that Apple and Samsung, among others, need.

Because even now you can just pay extra if you take such a device with a subscription at launch, and maybe when that is finally out of reach, something will change.
