Has DICE burned its space bridges?

According to industry scientist Tom Henderson, DICE pitched one Battlefront 3, but EA postponed the proposal due to licensing costs. Tom also goes on to say that we probably should not expect a sequel to the Battlefront series either, as Dennis Bränvall, Christian Johannesé and many other key developers have left DICE.
However, he also reminds that EA has not given up on Star Wars. They actually have two Star Wars games under development, but these are single-player focused games.
