President Rumen Radev has had a coronavirus test before his visit to Brussels, where he is attending a European Council meeting on June 24th and 25th, and after returning from there. Both tests were negative, reported “24 hours” Kiril Atanasov – Secretary for Media Relations of the Head of State.
The topic became topical after it became known that the Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bethel had a coronavirus since Saturday.
At the European Council in Brussels, all necessary anti-epidemic measures were taken, Dondukov confirmed 2.
During the meeting, Xavier Bethel was in contact with many leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The footage also shows him standing close to Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and European Council President Charles Michel. However, they all wear masks.
Bethel did a test on Sunday, after which the results were confirmed by PCR. He has mild symptoms – fever and headache, and will work remotely as long as he is quarantined for 10 days. The Luxembourg government does not believe that Bethel had close contact with any head of state or government, a spokeswoman for the prime minister said. In the principality, close contact is considered when two or more people are indoors, less than 2 m and without a mask for more than 15 minutes.
A spokesman for Charles Michel stressed that the council’s hygiene rules were observed.
The Luxembourg prime minister received a dose of AstraZeneca vaccine on May 6th. Bethel is scheduled to receive a second dose this week.
