Rumen Radev: The people are the judge in politics, they must relentlessly show the way

It is important for politicians to listen to what you want, the head of state addressed the residents of Nedelino

The people are the judge of all politicians and all politics and must show in which direction our country will develop. With joint efforts, with intransigence, with perseverance, we are taking a new path, in which we will not allow ourselves to be lied to, robbed and we will know that what we make will be invested in the prosperity of Bulgaria and our children. This was stated by President Rumen Radev in his greeting to the residents of Nedelino.

The head of state, who is on a week-long visit to the Smolyan region at the invitation of the regional governor Stefan Cabpytev, was greeted with a performance of a traditional Sunday duet on the eve of the 20th anniversary of the festival. in September with international participation.

“When a person comes to Nedelino, he cannot help but feel proud to be the heir of our ancestors, who for centuries defended the Bulgarian language, our traditions, faith, spirit and path to the future. You preserve the Bulgarian aspiration for freedom, justice and a better life, “the president told the city’s residents.

He pointed out that as bearers of these values, Bulgarians must show the right direction for the country’s development.

“It is important not for politicians to tell you what to do, it is important for politicians to listen to what you want, to hear how you see the future of Bulgaria,” Rumen Radev said.

At a meeting with Mayor Boyan Kehayov and representatives of local authorities, President Radev discussed the possibilities for the development of the municipality. During the conversation, the issue of construction of a treatment plant for the city was raised, as well as the need for fair criteria for the implementation of water supply projects in small settlements.

Earlier in the day, President Radev visited Rudozem, where he spoke with Mayor Rumen Pehlivanov. The two discussed the need for financial decentralization of local government.

“The lack of good planning by the central government and coordination with municipalities slows down the implementation of important municipal projects. If the local government has greater financial autonomy, mayors who have a detailed view of settlements and the needs of the population will be able to implement more efficient projects and manage more responsibly, “the president said.
