Burgas is not only a city of healthy traditions, Burgas is a city of progress, a city of the future. Burgas showed how a municipality can interact in the best possible way with the state authority, public organisations, businesses and citizens. So said President Rumen Radev in the seaside town. He arrived there to greet its he residents on the occasion of the city’s Nicholas Day holiday.
Radev was an official guest at the solemn concert and Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the central square “Troikata”.
The president stressed that both heavy industry and transport, as well as information technology work equally well in Burgas.
In his speech, the head of state added: “Burgas has not become just an example, Burgas is already setting a standard in healthcare, education, green policies and innovative solutions, care for the elderly and young people , to people with special needs But through all the years, one thing remains unchanged: it is the free and freedom-loving creative spirit of the residents of Burgas Burgas, for as long as we can remember, has been and will continue to be a city of poets, artists, artists, musicians. Burgas makes a huge contribution not only to the gross domestic product, but also to Bulgarian culture”.
“It has been scientifically proven that the most beautiful and intelligent women are from Burgas, but I can add also the most demanding, that’s why men from Burgas keep dragging them to the sea,” added the president.
Radev said that citizens of Burgas should be proud of everything that has been achieved after years of work and effort, be proud of young people and a secure future. The president wished those present a bright Christmas and New Year holiday, health, warmth and happiness, BTA reports.
Hundreds of people had gathered in the central “Troikata” square to celebrate the city festival. The Christmas tree lights were lit by the mayor of the city Dimitar Nikolov and students who presented themselves with distinction at the Olympics and international competitions.
Rumen Radev was accompanied by his wife Desislava Radeva. The event was also honored by the regional governor of the Burgas region, Prof. Maria Neykova.
On the “Troikata” square there was a concert with the participation of the Argirovi brothers, FOUR group, Mariana Dobreva and Mihaela Mihailova, Vocal Ensemble “Fortissimo”, Kaloyan Nikolov, Burgas Wind Orchestra, Choir “Milka Stoeva”, Stoyan Pamukov and DJ pancho.
