Until August 19th. This is the deadline that President Rumen Radev defined as the final opportunity for the candidate for interim prime minister, Gorica Grancharova-Kozhareva, to form a new government.
The date is aligned with the most likely date for early elections – October 20.
The president told the future prime minister that in this situation she is the only possible option. “I am confident that you will contribute your strength, knowledge and experience so that we have a cabinet that can really lead us through the critical situation.”
Before that, the president thanked Dimitar Glavchev for agreeing to be prime minister when other possible candidates refused. And then that he himself expressed his readiness to vacate the post.
Rumen Radev said that the previous time he had no other option but to elevate a political figure, which in turn led to tension due to suspicions of political use.
The future acting Prime Minister Gorica Grancharova-Kozhareva thanked for the trust in handing over the mandate.
“I will form a cabinet to ensure the normal functioning of the state until a regular government is formed,” she said.
