/ world today news/ Bulgaria is ready to encourage companies that invest in the development of human capital to expand their presence in the country. This was stated by President Rumen Radev, who held meetings with representatives of the technological giants Amazon and Google. The two companies are among the more than 400 participants in the international business forum, which takes place within the framework of the “Three Seas” Initiative.
Every year, Bulgarian youths take first place at international Olympiads in mathematics, physics and computational linguistics, and our country aims to develop an environment in which they can realize their talent, the president pointed out. Rumen Radev also noted the establishment of Bulgaria as the “capital” of information technologies in Southeast Europe, as well as one of the leading destinations for the development of start-up companies, which is appreciated by investors.
The representatives of “Amazon” and “Google” congratulated the Bulgarian president for the inclusion of scientific and educational connectivity among the priorities of the “Three Seas” Initiative and expressed interest in the development of joint projects. The Google platforms used for the organization of distance learning in secondary schools due to the pandemic have already proven their practicality and meet the goals of the Initiative, the company said. The digitalization of the economy always leads to added value and new jobs, it was emphasized at the meeting. The position was also common that without scientific and educational cohesion in Europe, modern infrastructure cannot be developed in the region, nor can real social and economic convergence be achieved in the European Union.
