/ world today news/ Stara Zagora is the place where the battle for Bulgarian energy should begin. This was stated to the media in the city by the chairman of ABV Rumen Petkov and noted the systematic attacks on the sector over the years. He described as shocking the decision of the National Assembly to sell the Belene reactors to Ukraine and recalled that the two reactors are the Bulgarian property of the National Electric Company. In this sense, the National Assembly has no right to dispose of this property. Especially considering the advertised price.
„The decision to provide all the technology we have for BGN 1.2 billion is a clear crime against energy security, which is part of the national security of the Republic of Bulgaria. We must realize where Bulgaria is going. Because the encroachment on “Belene” and the construction of “Belene”, given that France as a country declared its readiness to build the two reactors with the corresponding French technologies, with guarantees from France. We are announcing today that we will give them away, because it is a gift. Their value today is at least 3.5 billion. But this National Assembly with zoological enthusiasm declared that it was ready to give them away for 1.2 billion BGN, without commenting at all on the other 2 billion invested in the site“.
Rumen Petkov also noted the betrayal of Kiril Petkov, in his capacity as prime minister, towards the coal plants.
„Those who came here, who went – Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev – to the mines to sign the declaration of protection, the next day, handed over the “Marits” to Brussels. Whoever goes now from the Bulgarian side, those in Brussels will say – your government is committed. And if we don’t realize that the commitment to close “Maritsa” is already the final murder of Bulgaria’s energy security, then we deserve it, we deserve to live in the dark and in the cold“.
In Stara Zagora, Rumen Petkov commented on the semi-legal visit of the Ukrainian president to Sofia and its results. In this regard, ABV asked the Prime Minister several questions under the Law on Access to Public Information – about the spent state finances, including fees and remunerations for securing our government plane and the employees engaged for the purpose for the transportation of Volodymyr Zelensky and his accompanying persons and as a result of which decision to commit these violations. The second question is what is the valuation of the discussion held in the National Historical Museum, including the rental of equipment, employees, ambassadors, politicians, volunteers and representatives of civil society and what resource was used, including manpower, equipment, emergency duty and additional remuneration from the Bulgarian security services, the Ministry of the Interior, the National Security Service, in order to secure the entire scheme.
„July 6 is the day of political institutional and human baseness for us, as a society and as a country, and a vivid demonstration of servitude dominated only by illiteracy. The protocol, the usual interstate relations have been abandoned”.
Rumen Petkov is adamant that Europe and NATO must demand a full account of the expenditure of more than 100 billion euros in Ukraine.
