/ world today news/ ABV Chairman Rumen Petkov and his deputy Vladimir Marinov took part in a round table “Eurasian International Multicultural Dialogue” in Istanbul, at the initiative and invitation of the Russian parliamentary party “United Russia”.
At the event, an analysis was made of the prospects for Eurasian cultural and educational cooperation, opportunities for student exchange and for joint scientific research and common cultural events
During the forum, Rumen Petkov highlighted the visible unity of Eurasia.
„Years ago there was concern over the vast Eurasian continent, and the argument that Europe could not be a single continent by itself was formulated most clearly by the scholar Halford Mackinder, who argued that he did not see Europe as a separate continent, as navigation by water was impossible for ships. Today, the Northern Sea Route, the extraordinary dynamics of life on the “world island”, with the possibilities of railway, air, telecommunication, pipeline routes create a completely different weight and perspective of Eurasia. The fact that the vast majority of the Earth’s minerals are precisely on the Eurasian continent and the establishment of the SCO and BRICS as global formats oblige Europe to seek its future in an active dialogue with them“.
Within the framework of the event, Petkov and Marinov held bilateral meetings with representatives of the leadership of the “United Russia” party in the person of Andrey Klimov (member of the Bureau of the Supreme Party Council), with representatives of Russian and Turkish institutions. In a working conversation with the deputy chairman of the Turkish Justice and Development Party, Emin Sarach, Vladimir Marinov invited him to visit Sofia, which he accepted willingly.
Representatives of United Russia’s partner parties and leading experts in the field of international relations took part in the forum.
